My 2019 Travel Bucket List

I’ve just returned from my first holiday with Jolie and I’m embarking on my first baby-free trip and it got me thinking about the other places on my bucket list for the year ahead. Travel was not something that was really on my agenda for this year but having a baby doesn’t mean your travels have to be few and far between. Before I had Jolie I visited so many places and it was so nice to have something to look forward to throughout the year. So, here are a few destinations that are at the top of my bucket list for 2019.

Cruising around Turkey

Holiday Highlight: Discovering Turkey on Board a Yacht

Every bucket list should involve at least one boat trip and this year I’ve got my heart set on another cruise. I went on my first cruise to the Bahamas (check out my tips for first timers here) and it was genuinely life-changing. There’s something about being surrounded by the sea and 360 sunsets that makes me feel totally at ease and cruising is also a really affordable way of experiencing a new destination. This time I want more of a luxury feel (think more of a luxury gulet cruise that a budget cruise liner) and more of an intimate experience as cruise liners tend to be packed with thousands of tourists. I’ve seen many an Instagram pic taken in Turkey and it has been on my bucket list for years and I can’t wait to tick it off. After all, who wouldn’t want to see the beautiful Turkish coastline by boat?

San Diego

Holiday Highlight – ALL the sunsets

I’ve set myself a challenge to see the sunset in every state in America and this year I want to tick off a few more. I’m thinking San Diego, Malibu, LA and of course re-visit my favourite place on earth VEGAS.

Pig Beach in the Bahamas

Holiday highlight – swim with pigs

I went to the Bahamas 2 years ago and it’s one of those #nofilter places that is completely mesmerising. However, our itinerary didn’t include Pig Beach so we’ll just have to go back!

Barbados

Holiday Highlight – Pure relaxation

I’m a huge fan of total relaxation holidays and next year I’d quite like to schedule in some chill out time at a Sandals style resort. You know, the holidays where your main concern is which book to take the beach and which cocktail to try out next. Bliss.

Bali

Holiday Highlight – Balinese massage

The Instagram pics that I’m most jealous of are usually in Bali. There is something just so magical about it. I want sunrise yoga, afternoon hikes and massages galore.

Santorini

Because you don’t always want to travel long haul and Greece is stunningly beautiful not to mention the feta cheese and gelato opportunities. I’ve added a long weekend in Greece to my travel bucket list. As I’m a freelance writer, most holidays I tend to take my laptop with me and work from my sun lounger. I’m always looking for inspiring scenery when working on creative writing projects and a trip to Santorini would be very much welcomed mid-July. I’m determined to find a writing retreat and this would be the perfect place.

Cornwall

Holiday Highlight – Seaside Charm

I fancy a group trip in 2019 and Cornwall is going to be in my calendar for August! It’s my mission to explore a little more of England this year and with Cornwall only a 55-minute flight away, there really is no excuse!

Who wants to jump on a plane with me?

This post was in collaboration with Goolets but my love of travel is 100% my own.
