AD | A Review of Jaques of London Toys

With my daughter’s third birthday looming, I’ve been scouring the web for some lovely little toys to wrap up and so, when my favourite toy brand, Jaques of London, got in touch with a collab opportunity I did a little happy dance. With birthday parties now back in our calendars, (Jolie got her first-ever party invite just last week) you might, like me, be thinking of the perfect gift idea. Well, I have just the thing. Ooh and a 15% off code for you all too.

Why We Love Jaques of London

So, what’s so good about this toy brand? Well, lots of things. Yes, this post includes gifted products but I have purchased multiple toys from them in the past and Jolie has been obsessed with them all. They are the oldest toy and game manufacturer in the world which is pretty cool but they are known for beautifully made high-quality luxurious wooden toys that come in gorgeous packaging that reflects their attention to detail. And they don’t cost the earth. Jolie is at the perfect age for wooden toys and I picked two toys that I thought would grab her attention.

Jaques of London kindly let us pick two of their toys to review and we picked from the three-year-old category which in itself was really exciting for me. Animal toys always go down a treat with my little one so I chose the Classic Animal Puzzle. Inside the box are lots of pieces that make up wooden animals with an image on the front and a word on the back. This is a really engaging toy that introduces spelling and encourages little ones to work on the alphabet as well as putting together the puzzle pieces. We had a lot of fun with the pieces.

The second toy we chose to review was the favourite and it has come with us everywhere we’ve been. It comes in a cute round box that has a carry handle so it’s easily transportable. It’s a magnetic fishing game and everyone who has seen it has commented on what beautiful craftsmanship has gone into it.

I like this one because it is a multi-player game, it has 4 magnetic rods and lots of sea creatures to catch. It doesn’t simply look good either. It teaches little ones key skills such as hand-eye coordination. On the flip side of the wooden sea creatures are letters and numbers to encourage learning and play.

Jolie loved the variety of sea creatures and exclaimed with excitement with every catch! Her face lit up with each new creature!
