Fun Room Themes for your Home

In a world of identical grey and white homes, it feels as though people are sometimes reluctant to be creative with the decor in their rooms. My friend recently painted her playroom in the most amazing dark green hue and it inspired me to think about decorating my office more creatively. Here are some fun room theme ideas that you could use to add some style and excitement into your home.

Whatever theme you choose for your rooms, LED Hut has a light that will complement it perfectly, so don’t forget the little touches.

A spa sanctuary in your bathroom

This is an obvious choice, but for those of us who can’t pop to a spa every week, turning your bathroom into your own version is the next best thing. To turn your bathroom into a spa, you need to focus on more than just how it looks. Choose a scent that transports you to your happy place and light incense or candles while you’re in the bath, or find a room spray to keep it fresh all day long. Make sure you choose super fluffy, soft towels, and display them beautifully, just like a spa. Add a few plants and decant your favourite lotions and potions into ornate bottles. Don’t forget to save all of your burned down candles to house your bath salts and matches etc.

A bohemian living room

If you are someone who loves spending time relaxing with friends and family in your living room, you might want a bit of a boho-chic look. Choose warm colours such as pinks and oranges, and don’t be afraid to mix shades, colours, and textures – it’s all part of the style. Things should complement each other, but not totally match and if it has fringing, feathers or pom-poms, it’s perfect. Look for things at secondhand shops, or at craft fairs, and of course, be sure to have plenty of cushions and plants to finish it off.

A farmhouse kitchen

A rustic farmhouse vibe lends itself perfectly to a kitchen. You will want to utilise reclaimed wood and go for a soft colour palette. It should have a warm, family feel to it, without ever being pretentious. A large sink is a staple and you should opt for natural textures elsewhere where possible. A simple upgrade would be painting your cupboards in soft duck-egg chalk paint. Multiliving have some fabulous designs if you fancy a change.

Hollywood Regency Style Bedroom

If you want a bit of glitz and glamour in your room, without making it tacky, look to Hollywood of the 1930s. Lavish fabrics such as velvet and silk are key, and a statement quilted headboard (the bigger the better) is an important part. Large mirrors are a must-have, and a gold frame really adds to the glamour and luxury.

Your house should represent you and show off your personality. Throw the “rules” out the window and go with what makes your soul happy. After all, it’s you that has to live there. Choose what feels right, not always what will look good in photos. For example, you want a sofa that you can sink into, not one that looks stylish but feels like sitting on a pile of bricks!

What is your favourite theme?
