AROLAB Organic Beauty Box Review

Hello, hello, so today I have something quite exciting to tell you all about. It’s a serum. Well, a trio of serums actually. Now, skincare is personal and I’ve learned that just because one beauty blogger recommends one particular beauty product doesn’t mean it will grant me the same skin-beautifying benefits. However, when a skincare product works for me, I like to pass on the deets because it’s not often a new product even makes it into my skincare regime, never mind my blog. I tend to find products I love and then I’m pretty brand loyal for life. The slots for cleansers, toners and moisturisers, and exfoliators have long since been filled (Liz Earle and Vichy in case you were wondering) but serums were a gap in my skincare regime that I’ve been looking to fill.

Now, as a beauty blogger with a blog that is luxury focussed, I’ve had the pleasure of trying out some of the most luxurious beauty products on the market. I receive a lot of beauty related PR samples but not many make it to the blog review stage unless I would 100% recommend them and would go out and buy them myself. The latest pr package to land on my desk is from AROLAB Organic. They got in touch to tell me about their luxury cruelty-free beauty brand and sent me their beauty box so I could experience the AROLAB product range for myself. Now, first of all, let me say, this beauty box blows any other beauty box I’ve ever received out of the water.

First Impressions…

My first impression was that this is a product that is incredibly unique. It arrived packaged in cork to protect it from the elements in transit which was niche in itself. It contains one Moisturizing Hydraphase serum part of the first line of products from the brand, 532 Essential, and one Nourishing Lipophase serum as well as a dental serum in beautiful packaging.

The box I received is a limited edition design and only 500 were made (mine is number 27), hand-painted and signed by artist Karenina Fabrizzi. All of the products are hand-made in Spain and are vegan which ticks a lot of boxes. The ingredients are dermatologically tested, certified organic, and sulfate-free. I often wonder with Vegan products if there anything in them that’s actually powerful enough to make a positive difference to your skin but I was pleasantly surprised from the very first application. Luca Lancini, the man behind the brand says ”

“We are part of nature, so I doubt that there is something more powerful and effective for our health than the natural ingredients that the environment offers us. The secret is to seek the highest quality of raw materials and respect their properties in the different processes, from
planting, harvesting, and even the way they are handled.”

So, the two facial products are an oily face and neck serum and hydrating serum that are designed to be combined. You can combine them to suit your particular skin type with I adore. So, 3 pumps of one and 6 of another or 4 pumps of one and 2 of another.

My Skin Type

My skin is typically normal to dry and can be quite sensitive. I have no real skin issues, I rarely get breakouts but I would say I’m missing that glow that we would all like to have. I’m concerned about aging so anything that promises to make my skin look younger or like I’ve just had a facial at a spa and I’m interested. So, right now, I’d say my skin doesn’t look bad but it doesn’t really look great either and it’s dryer than usual because of the season. It’s a little dull, a little dry, and in need of hydration. I think because I’ve been wearing less makeup in lockdown because pottering around the house just doesn’t require a Chanel base, that I’ve noticed how lackluster my skin really is. I was looking back through the beauty archives of the blog to see if I had featured any serums and I think there’s only really been one that I’ve loved and they’ve changed the formula, name, and packaging so I’m guessing that it was a while back. The first thing I noticed about the products was the powerful fragrance. It smelled like a luxurious spa. I applied 3 pumps of each to my face and neck and honestly, my skin was glowing.

My Current Skincare Regime and where this fits in…

I’ve been a bit lax with my skincare regimen. I was very good during the first lockdown, doing a full cleanse, tone, and moisturise morning and night with regular sheet masks and weekly exfoliation but in between then and now, it slipped by the wayside. And boy can you tell. However, after watching an at-home facial routine on Instagram the other night, it reminded me how much I missed beauty treatments and I vowed to make more of an effort to carve out some me time and take care of my skin. And this meant purchasing a few new skincare products to reignite my love of pampering. This paired with the most insane PR package from AROLAB ORGANIC and I was a happy bunny bouncing out of bed each morning to try to achieve that post-facial glow at home. So, I cleanse my face with the Liz Earle cleanse and polish, then I layer the serum under my moisturiser. Now, I love an oil-based product for my body but I only really like using oils on my face during my evening skincare routine. I’m very interested to see what this product combination does for my makeup application. The moisturising Hydraphase serum is wonderfully nourishing and contains Hyaluronic acid which we all know (thanks to Caroline Hirons) is the holy grail for dry skin types. I apply this to a freshly washed and dried face and it feels wonderfully luxurious. I then brush my teeth as usual and add a couple of drops of the dental serum to my usual toothpaste for an extra burst of freshness.

The Verdict

I’ve only been using these serums for 2 weeks but I’m overjoyed with the results. This is without a doubt a luxurious addition to my skincare cabinet. The only serum I have ever used previously cost £35 and so this is a giant step up from that. Before trying this brand, I felt that my skincare regime was missing some serious hydration and AROLAB ORGANIC has filled it perfectly. So, I know I can hardly review such a luxurious skincare product without showing you the results. You won’t find me bare-faced in the blog a lot but I couldn’t not show you the effects of my new skin regime. it really bugs me when bloggers review products and don’t show you the appearance on the skin. Excuse the bedhead. Honestly, with no salons to go to and no spas to visit, this little beauty box might just be the best thing that happened to me in lockdown 2.0.
