Interior Design Trends I’m Loving Right Now

Are you planning on painting your living room? Does your kitchen need a revamp? I’ve recently purchased a new bed which has resulted in a full bedroom makeover, so naturally, my Pinterest boards are brimming with new decor trends.

While we have been indoors over the last few months, we’ve all spotted things we’d like to update and DIY we’d like to attempt around the home. In fact, the amount of time spent gardening and doing DIY increased by 147% to an average of 39 minutes per day during lockdown.

If you’ve been making a list of the areas that you’d like to refresh around the home and want to add in some of the hottest interiors trends, read on to get some style inspiration.

Structured simplicity

The trend for Scandi-inspired neutrals has continued long into 2020, but there’s a twist. While grey has reigned supreme in these Scandinavian styles in recent years, this is the trend that’s balancing out the cool colours we’ve become used to. Here, warm rich tones such as beige, caramel and cream are creating a soothing, laidback space. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of colour to contrast the neutral tones to add your own unique personality to the room.

This is a trend that works in areas of relaxation such as the living room or in bedrooms. You can easily introduce this colour palette using paint, but if you’d like to fully incorporate it, it’s worth investing in key pieces to instantly tap into the trend.

Soft oatmeal-coloured seating complemented by wooden window blinds can really tap into this style. Spreading the cost on a credit card may help you make the full change in one go but ensure you can afford the repayments first.

Honest comforts

The showroom-style home is no more. In its place is a living space that’s all about being comfortable. Here, fabrics are layered to create a cosy, soothing space. If you’re looking for an easy trend to introduce, this is one to jump into.

Add in some throws and blankets, cushions and fake furs to make the room a soft, inviting place to relax and unwind in. The colours for this trend blend muted blues and greys with warm pinks and rich browns to create a laidback palette.

Eclectic glamour

Bold, opulent, and striking, this is a trend that combines the elegance of the 1920s with the bombastic styling of the 1970s, adding a contemporary take for 2020. Here, curved furniture in royal blues and velvet materials can be seen throughout, while brassy, gilded accessories add a touch of class. As well as that vibrant blue, this palette incorporates bronze, ochre and rose tones to form a rich, decadent effect throughout.

To add this to your home, invest in a royal blue coloured sofa and rose gold toned curtains to make a statement. This is a trend that was made to be seen.

What trend will you choose? Will you opt for soft comfort or something glamourous?
