So, fragrance layering is a thing.

If you’ve ever thought about why you would ever consider buying a hair perfume or a body lotion that matches your perfume, this post is going to explain it all. Have you ever wondered why some people smell just as divine at the end of the night as they did on arrival to the party? You got it. Fragrance layering! At first I presumed that these little luxury extras were rather unnecessary but they are all designed to work together to be combined to create a fragrance that is long lasting all over scent experience. Here is the low down on fragrance layering.

Fragrance layering starts in the shower. If you already have picked out a signature scent, explore the range further and you may find that they offer soaps or shower gels that complement the collection. You might find they soaps that are infused with the fragrance and this is a great starting point.

An easy way to experiment with fragrance layering is to start with a body lotion such as the My Burbbery body mist and layer it with the My Burberry deodorant from the same range. Then complete with a few sprays of your eau de perfume.

How cute are these miniature Burberry travel sized perfumes?

World Duty Free stock a number of sets like this one to make fragrance layering easy. Layering products from the same fragrance collection will not only make your scent last for longer, it will also give the fragrance in question more complexity. Fragrance clings to certain areas of the body longer so by layering your scent, you have covered all bases.

Cute as a button Calvin Klein travel miniatures

If you are feeling adventurous, you can combine different scents from the same family to create a bespoke scent that is unique to you. Not all fragrances have complementing bodycare collections so this option may be for you. Always opt for fragrances that share common notes as the aim is to find scents that complement each other rather than clash. My signature scent is Calvin Klein Euphoria so I can’t wait to try and combine it with other scents to create a unique one.

The babes at World Duty Free kindly sent over their travel exclusives so I could give fragrance layering a try. These handy travel sized bottles are perfect for when you want to smell gorgeous on the go. After all fragrance layering should be simple whether you are home or away. These sets make super cute gift ideas should you want to spoil that special someone.

My favourite scents to layer are My Burberry and Calvin Klein but these Marc Jacobs Daisy scents are next on my list. Cuteness overload.
