Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m a tanoholic. That’s why no sooner than a week after my return from Palma, I’m trying out a new fake tan. While I do have a hint of a base tan from my week away, it takes me a few weeks to really get brown so it’s no surprise that I’m once again searching for the perfect fake tan. Here’s the DL on the latest tan from the Laurens Way range.

While I love nothing more than a deep bronzed glow, there are many things I hate about fake tan and as a result not many brands have stood up to my expectations. If I’m going somewhere special I’ll usually have a Xen Tan spray tan but what about those days where you just need a bit of colour? I’ve seen lots of bloggers raging about Laurens Way fake tan and so I jumped at the chance to try it out. The team at Laurens Way kindly sent me a bottle of their  Solution 60 Mousse to try and I’m pleased the say the results are quite fabulous. Colour wise, the Solution 60 Mousse is flawless. I was kind of expecting it to end up looking orange but the shade is dark without being OTT.

The results after one hour…

My favourite thing about this tan is that you have full control over the end result. You can shower it off after one hour for a light to medium glow or leave it on for up to three hours for a deeper, darker tan. I chose the darker shade (obvs).

The mousse is dark in colour making it easy to see where you have applied it. A word of advice when applying the solution, it is fast drying so make sure you buff and blend it in quickly. It’s an instant tan so you can apply it on the morning of special event if you need a golden glow at the last minute. I’ll defintely use this as a back up if I can’t get a spray tan for a special event in the future as it’s so easy to apply.

If there was a downside to this product I’d say it was the smell. It does have the faint biscuity odour that some fake tans have. The silver lining being that the smell only lingers for a few hours and completely disappears by day two.

I washed off this tan after three hours and I loved the colour I was left with. I applied it three days ago and it hasn’t faded a bit. It’s not just great for the body. I used it on my face which is a notoriously tricky place to tan but the results were great. I used this gorgeous salt scrub to ensure my skin was extra smooth before I applied my tan and used my favourite Palmers body lotion day and night to keep my skin moisturised. I truly believe this is the key to a longer lasting tan.
