Afternoon Tea at Fancie

Introducing Fancie’s Afternoon Tea, three tiers of tempting treats served with a side of tea. Afternoon Tea is my absolute favourite activity and the ultimate treat for ladies who lunch. A couple of weeks ago I had a much needed catch up with one of my best friends at Fancie over finger sandwiches, scones and more cake than you could ever wish for. It was quite simply, delightful.

The hours whirled by in a buttercream haze and we washed it all down with an extra large serving of tea. There is nothing particularly civilised or dainty about the Afternoon Tea at Fancie. You don’t have to dress to impress (I recommend your stretchiest pants) or sit on ceremony. Tea isn’t served in fine china but served in an eclectic collection of cups and saucers that are definitely on the vintage side. My favourite thing about it is the portion size. Afternoon Tea at Fancie isn’t just for girls. The portions are robust so you don’t have to feel guilty for dragging your boyfriend along. This portion was so big, I even took some of the mini cupcakes home! Trust me, this is a rarity. Speaking of mini cupcakes, they were my favourite part. Here’s a close up.

Yum!! The top tier is packed to the brim with mini chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and brownie tray bakes. Just don’t think about the calories.

Underneath that layer of cress (I have no idea why cress is needed either) lies an entire plate of naughtiness, oh and a few token strawberries to make you feel a bit less guilty.

Of course if you’re still peckish, you can pop by the Fancie shop on your way out. Have you had afternoon tea at Fancie?
