Here’s my first entry for the #worldwidewardrobe competition. Travel Supermarket are running a fabulous competition for bloggers to win a trip of a lifetime to New York. *squeals* The catch? You have to create an outfit that is perfect for sipping cocktails in the city that never sleeps. For £200. *puts down Manolo’s* Fitting in with Manhattan’s elite isn’t easy especially with only £200 in your pocket. So, I’ve left the heady highs of haute couture and headed for the high street to find a Blair Waldorf esque outfit on a budget.
Here’s a little pinsperation for my post…
My outfit is fashionable yet feminine. I opted for a little black dress as you can’t beat it for understated style (think Audrey Hepburn) and added a little glitz and glamour with a gold envelope clutch for a contemporary feel. Sky high stilettos are pretty if a little impractical for the streets of NYC but when you need to make a statement these peep toes are perfect. Gold and pearl earrings add instant elegance and are a total bargain from Asos. I then add the finishing touches to my NYC look with a decadent hair accessory. I found this little gem on Etsy for under £2! *smugness*
