Do you want to have a stylish bedroom? Maybe you’re struggling because your bedroom is rather small and you just don’t know what to do about it. Either way, this guide will show you what changes you can make, to ensure that you get the best result out of your space.

Use Storage Below the Bed
The first thing you need to do is make sure that you are utilizing storage beneath the bed. Your bed is already taking up a lot of floor space, so it does make sense for you to make the most out of it. Use wooden storage crates or even design your own drawers. You can also use pretty baskets, or use bed risers if you want to corral some of your clutter. If you want to work with your child’s room then add some storage under their cot too. Buying a mini crib could also be a good idea, as it will help you to free up space. The benefits of using a mini crib are endless.

Get Creative with Storage

Don’t limit yourself to just using plastic boxes. There are so many types of storage available and it’s easy to find decorative pieces that you can leave out in full view. Try bed trunks or even storage benches. You can usually find something like this that fits in with the room perfectly. If you can, try to find one that has a tiny footprint. If you can do this then you will be all set.

Add some Shelves

If you have a very small space then you may want to try and utilize wall space where possible. Floating shelves can turn even the tightest bedroom corners into streamlined storage solutions. Wall-mounted shelves are very affordable and they are the perfect way for you to expand your storage without having to worry about making the room look tacky or cluttered.

Hanging Racks and Open Wardrobes

Hanging garment racks are great and they give you the chance to score even more closet space. You can add rails just about anywhere and they do not take up an inch of floor space. If you want to make your closet look good with garment racks then consider taking the doors off, so you can free up space around the closet. You then need to organize your clothes according to their color, so that everything looks neat. If you can do this then you will find everything ends up becoming easier for you.

Get Creative

If you have a small room then you need to be creative. Why not try and get some shelving that double as art? Cool hanging shelves give you the chance to show off your trinkets and anything else decorative you may have lying around.

The Foot of Your Bed

Adding a storage bench, some baskets or even crates at the foot of the bed will help you to add way more of whatever it is you need. The great thing about doing this is that it means you can get more storage and it doesn’t take up much room either. The payoff here is invaluable, so make sure that you give this some serious thought.

Make your Side Table Smaller

Sometimes, when you are working with a small space, you have to make sacrifices. A nightstand is a must-have for a lot of people, and this is understandable. If you don’t have much room beside the bed then there is a solution. Turn the nightstand so that it faces the wall on the opposite side of the bed. You will soon find that this makes your room look bigger and most of the time you will still be able to reach it.

Ghost Chairs

If you think you have room for a chair within your bedroom then this is great, as it can add instant personality to a space while serving a functional purpose. If you want to do something here then try and go for a ghost chair. The benefit of having a ghost chair is that they are so light and clear, that you barely see them. This translates to you having less visual clutter within the room. Clear acrylic chairs are very easy to come by, and most of the time they won’t cramp your tiny bedroom space.

Swing Arm  Sconce

If you are looking to add a bit of style to your bedroom and are lacking a bit of light then one thing you can do is opt for swing-arm wall sconces. These help to make a room look bigger and they are also way less bulky when compared to table lamps. If you aren’t quite sure how to incorporate this into your bedroom then try and look at the space you have, and how much light you need. This will help you to choose a sconce that reflects the mood and the theme you are going for.

Feature Walls

Decor is very important when working with a small bedroom. You may feel as though you need to go for a lighter color so you can make the room look bigger. With that in mind, you do want to add an element of luxury. One way for you to get everything you want would be for you to go for a busy wallpaper. You need to go to the extreme here and choose something wildly different. If you go for something very busy then this will take the focus away from how small the room is, and this can work in your favor. If you go for something just a little bit busy then this will make it harder for you to get the result you want and you may even find that your room ends up feeling more cramped as a result. If you are a bit stuck then it doesn’t hurt to look for inspiration online. When you do, you will find it easier than ever to get the result you are going for with your home.
