Magical Macaroons at Ladurée London

Whilst in London for the launch of Nelly.com, I made a flying visit to my favourite luxury Parisian tea room, Ladurée. Nestled on the ground floor of Harrods, this chic pudding parlour is an Aladdin’s cafe of delicious dessert.

Macaroon towers teeter on shelves that showcase sweet treats in pretty pastel shades. If you are a macaroon lover, you will already know that the original Ladurée is based in Paris, however, thanks to Harrods, we can now get our sugar fix without hopping on the Eurostar.

Macaroon towers are great for weddings and those who want to jazz up their office desk. Fancy a change? You can choose from pretty puddings including vanilla and strawberry slices, giant macaroons and strawberry tarts. I opted for a box of 8 strawberry and marshmallow filled macaroons. Yum!

If you can tear yourself away from floor upon floor of couture clothing, I recommend you stop by for a spot of afternoon tea or grab something sweet to takeaway. Or why not treat someone special? Did I mention it’s my birthday in 4 weeks? Hint hint…

Yum! I appreciate the close-up shots for texture – sometimes food photographers forget to bring it in close! I’ve had Ladurée macaroons a couple of times here in Paris, and even brought some back to my US family in my luggage, with moderate success (they don’t travel super well). But oh my are they fantastic. When showing visitors around the city I always offer them a macaroon pit-stop because it’s an easy way to knock their socks of with a bit of Parisian flair!

On my to-do list is a trip to one of the Ladurée’s for their afternoon tea, which I’ve heard is really nice. Have you had any experience with this?

Thanks for satisfying my sweet tooth with these great shots. Take care and happy blogging!
