There is nothing better than feeling the seasons change. Right now, we’re feeling the summer sink into the fall and the entire Christmas period rolling up is starting to feel very real! The only problem with all of that festive excitement is that you don’t necessarily enjoy the weather that comes with it.

Those long summer nights are not the main event anymore. The backyard you used for entertainment is looking a lot more barren as you use it less and move into the lounge for the evening. So now, your living room is where you should be turning your attention. You can go from bespoke fireplace designs to choosing new rugs and carpets that are thicker and able to trap the heat. Your living room is going to be the height of wintry luxury, ready for you to feel cozy and warm all through the season. So, here are the best ways to add a little luxury to your living room.

  1. Look to the floors. As we just said, carpets and rugs are going to make up your decisions about luxury in your home for the winter. The red carpet is luxury, sure, but the carpet in your home should feel comfortable under your toes and capture the heat. In the winter months, you’ll find that thicker carpets are better for your comfort. Not only that, but a thick, plush carpet offers the space the luxury it needs. If you don’t want to lay whole new carpets down, then just consider the fact that rugs can be just as beautiful.
  2. Consider your curtains. While you were basking in the summer sunshine and enjoying the lighter colour and heaviness of your blinds, you kept your home cool and looked that way. With the winter air outside, heavier curtains are a better option as they trap the heat into the home, provide privacy and light control and better insulation all at once. You can transform the interior of the rooms, too, allowing you to go from blah to luxe in a moment.
  3. Add throw pillows and floor cushions. Another way to add some luxury to your space is to add pillows and cushions to the living room. Textured fabrics, faux fur and hand woven knits will help you to enhance the living room. Choosing the right colors will also matter so complement the colour scheme you use in the winter, whether it’s deep ruby reds or bright golds, you can really give the living room that luxury look. If you want to be a little more luxurious, go for prints rather than block colors.
  4. Get the chimney swept out. If you want to add luxury to the space, think about those bespoke fireplace designs we mentioned earlier. Before you can get one of these into the living room, you need the chimney swept out and a cap added to the chimney, too.

Your living room is going to give you all the luxury you need when you get it ready for the winter ahead!
