3 Road Trips you Need to Take This Year

If you are growing tired of staring at the four walls inside your home, it could be time to take a well-deserved break. While some are happy to jet off abroad for some much-needed rest and relaxation, others are more comfortable exploring different corners of their own country at the moment. If you’re the latter, you’re in for a treat, because below you’ll find some of the best road trips to go on this year.

Staycation advantages

The best thing about taking a staycation in your own country is that you don’t have to pack a large suitcase, worry about making it to the airport on time, or organise any transfers the other end. Instead, you just have to pop some of your essentials into a holdall, pack them into the car, choose your favourite tunes, get Google Maps ready and start your journey! So, what areas of the UK should you add to your road trip list?

North Coast 500, Scotland

How does over 500 miles of beautiful coastal scenery sound to you? The North Coast 500 is a stunning road trip, and one that deserves a place high up on this list! Along the way, you can even stop off to hike, snorkel, canoe, camp, and eat at some of the most incredible restaurants in Scotland. This destination is perfect all-year-round, so you just need to do your research on the route you’d like to take, book in some accommodation and then choose when to go!

Snake Pass, Peak District

Would you like to witness magnificent views of the National Trust’s High Peak Estate? If so, this road trip is for you. Located in the Derbyshire part of the Peak District, as its name suggests, you can expect a hair-raising ride of windy roads and superb views.

Norfolk Coast

Fancy somewhere a little quieter? Then tranquil Norfolk is the perfect place. Along this route, you will experience scenic waterways and amazing wildlife, before taking the coastal roads towards seaside resort Cromer. In north Norfolk, you’ll also find over 40 miles of sandy shores, so it’s a great location to blow any cobwebs away.

Of course, you can’t go on any road trips unless you have a sturdy car to get you there. If you plan to make regular journeys across the UK from now on, it could be worth investing in a reliable vehicle to help get you there and back, such as a Vauxhall Crossland X. This SUV will provide you with plenty of space, and will ensure you get to your destination in comfort.

Which road trip will you be taking first?
