Upping my Fitness Game With Gym Cube

Hello lovely readers, today I have lots of exciting news. I’m upping my fitness game. Let me put you in the picture. I’m not afraid to sweat, I love hard core workouts, I enjoy nothing more than pushing myself in the gym but I also love love love curling up on the sofa with snacks and before I know it 457 episodes of Vanderpump Rules has been devoured as well as 10 chocolate biscuits. I need to reacquaint myself with the healthy food aisle. So, why the sudden urge to take my training up a notch? I’ve booked a trip to the USA and in just under six weeks I’m jetting off on holiday and so the time has well and truly come to up my fitness game and put the chocolate fingers down. The goal is to drop from a size 10/12 to a size 8/10 in time for my flight. I’m trying out one of Gym Cube’s new slim and tone fitness plan that is designed to shift a dress size in six weeks. I need a challenge, I need a kick up the ass and I want you all to do it with me. Grab those trainers girls and boys!

Online Training You Can Do Anywhere

So, why Gym Cube? During the summer months I have no problem going for an early morning run or an evening gym class but as the nights get darker and the weather gets worse, I tend to want to hibernate. The reason I’m really excited about working with Gym Cube is that all of their workouts are online and so not only do you get variety (there’s 600 training sessions to choose from), you can do them in the comfort of your own home. If you like a gym setting, you can also watch the videos on your phone or take your plan to them at the gym. You get access to hundreds of workouts for a monthly fee and it never gets boring. I’m going to be doing the slim and tone plan for the next 45 days.

The Slim and Tone Plan

I love a plan. I’m looking at this plan as a challenge. I’m very competitive when it comes to fitness and I’ll be doing five workouts per week to hit my goal. That’s 2 HIIT sessions and 3 resistance workouts per week. That sounds like a lot of sessions but this year I have managed to be more consistent about working out and this is just what I need to take my training up a notch. When you sign up to Gym Cube, you can state the equipment you have and even if you don’t have any you can select home workouts that use bodyweight only. It’s really tailored for all. Also, if I’m honest, exercise or lack of isn’t the reason my jeans don’t fit. My diet is poor. REALLY poor. Another reason why I’m super excited to start the Gym Cube plan is because there is lots of support on the diet side of things too. I know that when it comes to losing weight and toning up, it’s 80% diet and 20% exercise so I really need to get my eating habits in check.

Six Weeks and Beyond

So, I usually lose weight for a holiday and then put it all back on as soon as I return but when I get back I plan to follow the #GCLifestyle plan which is an online resource for all things diet and fitness. It’s not as intense as the six week plan but it is designed to keep you motivated and you get access to an online coach and community so you have all of the support you need. There’s also Coach Kev. With your membership, you get access to your very own lifestyle coach that you can communicate with vis email and live chat.

My Body

I’m ok with the heavily filtered version of my body. I’ve been blessed with a curvy figure and when I pay attention to my diet and fit in my workouts, my body responds well but I would love it if it didn’t take 5678 shots and 8 filters to be comfortable with having my photo on Instagram. I want to look my best and when I don’t eat well or exercise I put on weight fast. So, here’s to changing the cycle.

So tonight I’m going to do my before measurements and work out my ideal amount of macros and calories for the plan to be effective. I’m also going to put together my meal plan and do a healthy food shop so that I can start as I mean to go on. Right, I’m going to take my before pics. I’ll be blogging my progress weekly so if you want to start with me, you can sign up here. I will post my before and after pics in a follow up post once the 6 weeks is completed (and I’m up in the air at 30,000 ft with no wifi because posting before pics is SCARY).

I adore reading about other people’s fitness journeys so leave me a link in the comments so I can read yours. Do you have a fitness goal? An event you want to look great for? We can do this!!
