Where to Stay in Miami: The Shore Club

The Shore Club Miami

I can’t believe how long it’s taken me to write this post. I’ve been back from Miami for 2 months but I thought I’d write a quick hotel review for you because deciding where to stay in South Beach is hard. First let me say, this isn’t a sponsored post, I didn’t get a free stay at either of the hotels mentioned in this post but I wanted to clue you up on a little gem of a hotel so you don’t waste your time and money like I did.

You can find all of the picture perfect moments from my frolics around Miami and the Bahamas on my Instagram but I always like to share the more real and relatable memories on my blog. As many of you know I went on a cruise around the Bahamas but we were lucky enough to enjoy a day in Miami on either side of our trip. We booked two hotels, one a dream, the other a disaster. We booked the Fontainebleau for our first night for 2 reasons. Firstly, we wanted a fabulous room that had all the frills and at £250 per night, we were sure it would exceed our expectations. Secondly, it had like 2786 restaurants and bars and even a club so we could experience Miami nightlife without having to leave the hotel. Perfect when you are the most jet lagged you have ever been. The room was tired, outdated and small with no sea view. The luxury we expected was nowhere to be seen and the lobby was packed to the rafters with drunk people and the pool area was no less intimidating. Not what you need after a ten hour flight and an epic customs queue. When we asked for a room in a quieter part of the hotel we were told with attitude that it was Friday night. There was no quiet part. Wine helped.

We’d booked The Shore Club as it was well located on Collins Avenue and was affordable at £139 per night and we didn’t need anything fancy for the last night of our trip. It turned out, we saved the best until last, this hip hotel was like an oasis of calm after a crowded Cruise ship. The room was the same size as the Fontainbleau but it was shiny and new with a better mini bar, a smaller resort fee and fancier toiletries.  Here are ten reasons why I’d recommend The Shore Club.

Shore Club South Beach

They put the rum in the coconut: Literally. Just when you think life can’t get better, you see that you can get a rum filled coconut for $15. Happiness in cocunut form.

It’s Insta-worthy: Everything from the colourful pool area with cushions in blues, reds and yellow hues that contrasts with a white airy lobby, you simply can’t take a bad photo here.

It’s 30 seconds from the beach: Literally 100 steps or less from the sandy shore. SO. MUCH. YES.

They Get You: When you stay in hotels as much as I do, you tend to forget what your basic desires are when it comes to a hotel but these become glaringly obvious after ten hours on a plane or after the hell on earth that is disembarkment of a cruise ship. We arrived at The Shore Club deliriously tired knowing all too well that the chances of an early check in were going to be slim to none but were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready. Our bags magically transported to our rooms and the staff kindly charged our charger packs and umbrellas were given to us to brave the tropical storm should we wish to venture out. The service is practically telapathic. The room itself is calm and tranquil yet modern and trendy. The bed was delightfully huge and cloud-like. Free Wifi *check* Complimentary water *check* Fancy toiletries *check*

The Pool staff are #goals: Unlike the pool staff at the Fontainebleau that were rude and never returned with your change, the staff at the Shore Club are on hand to make sure you have everything you need.

There’s pool floats: If only every day could be spent floating around in a pool on your very own pool float.

It’s all white everything: The rooms are minimalistic and modern and all white with touches of rose gold. You’ll want to move in.

The Bathrooms: Because of my stay here I now hate my own bathroom with a passion and any other bathroom that doesn’t have a metallic gold shiny concrete floor/wet room.

The in house Nobu: Yep, you can get your sushi fix here. You’ll probably spot a celeb ot two while you’re at it. Fun fact. Jay Z and Beyonce have stayed here.

The View: I can’t even describe the beauty that is South Beach but I captured the moment I first saw it in my Vlog.

Complimentary bikes: There’s a gym on site but why not borrow one of their complimentary bikes and burn of some calories while you see the sights?

The rooftop spa: My only regret was not booking in at the Shore Club spa. MAJOR ERROR.

To sum up, the Shore Club was everything that my fancy £250 room wasn’t and at half the price. I’d book it again in a heartbeat. A  taxi to the airport is around $30 plus a tip.

Have you stayed at the Shore Club?
