Vacation Vibes Playlist

Is that a sprinkling of freckles I see? Have you been away? Yes and Yes. While I’ve been back from Portugal over a week, I’m 100% still in holiday mode and tbh my holiday playlist is the only thing keeping me going right now. That and a 3pm daiquiri. So, if you are not lucky enough to be reading this poolside from your sun lounger somewhere exotic, this post will give you more than enough vacation vibes. Here’s a little look at what I’ve been listening to lately.

Firstly, can we just talk about these incredible headphones?  I was kindly sent them just in time for my trip to Mallorca and I literally haven’t taken them off since. They’re wireless so you don’t get any pesky tan lines when you sunbathe and the battery life is amazing giving you around 14 hours of music. Perfect for long haul trips. Saying that I’ve worn them to run at home and walk the dog and even on the train a couple of times so it’s safe to say this playlist has been on practically non stop.

Anything and Everything by The xx

Because every summer playlist needs a little bit of Indie coolness. Dreamy bed to beach listening.

Lana Del Rey – Video Games

One of my friends just walked down the aisle to this in Portugal. Needless to say it’s become a staple take me back tune played on a loop during the plane ride home. It also works anywhere with a sea view.

Heather Nova – Paper Cup

This is one to listen to when you are no more than 3 daiquiries in. Any more and you may end up sobbing uncontrollably. Ahem. Or so I’ve heard. Positively enchanting when tipsy, utterly heart breaking otherwise.

Rupert Holmes – Escape

AKA The Pina Colada song. I love this song for so many reasons but mainly for the lyric I´m not much into health food, I am into champagne. It also reminds me how much I love Pina Coladas. It doesn’t get much more summery than coconut, pineapple and rum. 10 points if you don’t shimmy to this song. Trust me. It’s impossible.

Dave Matthews Band -The Space Between

Old school but probably my favourite song of all time. OF. ALL. TIME. Download it now. Pop it on repeat.

Blink 182 – I Miss You

Because I think I always secretly wanted to be in a rock band or maybe just wanted to date someone in a rock band. This genre of music is like a little rabbit hole just waiting for you to fall down. You’ll never get out. Take snacks.

Dante’s Creek – THEY.

This is the song I never even knew I needed until about 3 minutes before I boarded the plane. Anyone else panic buy songs before a long haul flight?

Fantasia – When I See You

Bouncy and upbeat. It’s the perfect poolside partner.

Pia Mia – We Should Be Together

Listen to this when lounging around. It’s perfect for lazy days.

Wyclef Jean – 911

An oldie but a goodie (even if it does make me feel 105).

French Montana – Unforgettable

The rest of the songs on my playlist were really just for show as I don’t know what else to tell you apart from I’ve had this song on repeat for around 2378 hours and don’t plan to ever stop. I think it stems from my obsession with steel drums. It’s hypnotically good. It complements my summer aesthetic of driving with the windows down in california (or to the local CO-OP). Whichever.

Justin Bieber Despacito

You know when a song instantly reminds you of a holiday and you’re just not quite ready to let it go. Well, this is it. Best enjoyed with a Mojito or a Dorito or anything that rhymes remotely with Despacito. Overplayed? Yes. Over It? Never.

Camilla Cabello – Crying in the Club

Addictive. Listen to it with wild abandon.

Selena Gomez – Me & My Girls

Ok, we’ve got a bit giddy at this stage and yes, you’re probably going to want to get on your sparkliest playsuit and head out. Just me?

DJ Khaled feat Rihanna – Wild Thoughts

Ok, I admit it, this is probably only on the list because it is quite frankly a lot of fun to sing I know you wanna see me naked naked naked at anyone in the vicinity. You totally have permission to dance to this one.

Lil Wayne – Right Above It

Get out of your bathrobe and whip off that towel turban. It’s time to go out and this will totally get you in the mood for your 7th night out in a row. This one also works if you want to actually put those token trainers and gym leggings to good use that you packed. Oh and yes! Well done! This is the theme tune to Ballers!

What songs are on your ultimate summer playlist?
