Three Holiday Beauty Essentials

Firstly, I know what you’re thinking. I don’t look like the type of person who has only three holiday beauty essentials and usually I’m not. Holidays are a wonderful excuse to buy all of those exciting albeit totally unecessary products that you simply don’t need in England. However, thanks to Jet 2’s outrageous charge of £52 for a suitcase I decided hand luggage was sufficient for a 4 day trip and only then did it click that this meant cutting down my go to beauty stash by 2 thirds. If you ever really want to know which holiday beauty must haves you can’t live without, go abroad with only hand luggage.

Bali Body Suncare

I bought these little beauties from Bali Body about 2.3 seconds after opening my eyes one morning. You know when you see a product on Instagram and it shouts buy me buy me and before you know it you are fully invested and almost 100% sure that it will arrive in the mail and instantly transform you into someone as beautiful and goddess like as the person using it? Well, at no less that £17.95 per bottle, I bloody well expect to lose a stone as well as all traces of cellulite upon the first application. In all honesty, I had no real expectations of these but I thought if nothing else they will make a pretty addition to my Instagram while I’m away. The truth is they are actually worth the hype. I opted for the watermelon tanning oil and the moisturising sunscreen the latter of which is now my all time fave. They both smell delicious and the lotion has a really velvety finish that isn’t greasy at all and leaves you with a lovely glowy sheen. Downside? The bottle only lasted 4 days so you may have to stockpile.

St Tropez Tanning Sheet Masks

So self tan sheet masks are a thing! After flashing this around on Snapchat and Insta stories, I got a barrage of messages about them so I’m extra excited to tell you all about them. When I spotted this St Tropez sheet mask while doing the obligatory holiday Boots shop I actually did a double take before turning my gaze to the sky in a silent thank you to the beauty gods for creating what I already knew would be my holy grail holiday essential. And it didn’t disappoint. Face tanning is tricky. If you get spray tans like me you will know that it wears off your face quicker then the rest of your body and these sheet masks are the perfect way to top up your face tan. I left mine on for 15 minutes before bed and I woke up to a gorgeous glow. A word of advice, when you take off the mask, rub the excess serum into the hairline and the neck to avoid a tide mark where the mask ends. Well done St Tropez for creating a world first! The best bit? Boots have them on sale here.

Hydrating Haircare

After bleaching my hair for an eternity, throwing sea salt, chlorine and sun rays at it is only going to mean extra frazzled ends that could break off at any moment. So, rather than wasting my beauty allowance with one full size product, I decanted five into little clear jars. Among my little army of hair saviours was my all time can’t live without John Freida hair mask, my Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture treatment, the Show Beauty thickening lotion and the Show Beauty Volume Lux shampoo and conditioner. I also snuck this Paul Mitchell ultimate colour repair triple rescue thermal protection spray into my Mum’s case. I alternated the Paul Mitchell mask and the John Freida one and used the thermal spray before blowdrying my hair on an evening. I then followed with the thickening lotion from Show Beauty which is quite simply magical if you have fine hair like me.

Right! Back to Love Island! *Kisses*
