Nothing inspires me more to get my lazy ass to workout more than buying some sparkly new pieces of gym kit (just me?) so I thought I’d share my summer themed fitness wish list with you all. Some of these bits and bobs I’ve already invested in and some are still on my list of things to buy. I tend to workout outside a lot more in the warmer months and since the clocks went forward, I’ve found myself wanting to make the most of the light nights. Who’s with me?

1) Tom Ford Shades: Designer shades aren’t the most financially sensible option for working out however, I think if you are going on holiday somewhere nice this year, you could totally justify these Tom Ford beauties. I’m planning to dig my bike out of the garage much more this year and these would be perfect for canal rides.

2) Headphones: These black and gold headphones have been on my wish list for as long as I can remember, shall I take the plunge?

3) Shiseido Wet Force Suncream: If you are planning to go for a run or a cycle outdoors you’ll need a good SPF and the Shiseido factor 50 is the perfect way to protect your face from the sun. This product is specifically designed to be used when swimming or in contact with water so it harder to sweat off.

4) Victoria Secret water bottle: It is more important than ever in the summer months to stay hydrated and I’m obsessed with the water bottles from Victoria Secret. Slightly too hefty to take on a run but they are perfect for outdoor circuits.

5) Skipping Rope: Now I’ve already invested in a skipping rope as it is the perfect activity for a quick outdoor calorie burn. In the summer I do hill runs in the park and this year I plan to take my skipping rope along to burn off a few more calories.

6) Boxing Gloves: If you have read any of my previous bootcamp posts you will know how much I love boxing. I’ve bought myself some pads and gloves so I can do my own sessions in the garden.

7) Sketchers Trainers: It’s been about a year since I bought my last pair of trainers and it’s time for an upgrade. My current pair don’t give me as much comfort as I’d like but these Sketchers flexi appeal trainers have a memory foam footbed so they are super comfy. They are also the perfect excuse to brighten up my workout wardrobe as I’m forever wearing all black.

8) Cap: Protect your face from the sun in style with a cute cap or use it as a disguise when running outdoors. Why is it you never see anyone you know when you are looking your best but as soon as you go for a run you get spotted?

9) Supplements: As well as some new beauty products, I’ve also invested in some supplements to complement my summer fitness regime. I suffer from really bad hay fever during the summer months and it takes all of the fun out my outdoor workouts. I’ve added a Pycnogenol supplement to my collection to combat the symptoms. It’s a superb addition to your outdoor summer fitness tool kit. Bye bye itchy eyes!
