Le Chalet’s afternoon tea is deliciously different and decidedly French. I’d heard great things about it so I could’t wait to finally try it out. Alongside the traditional sandwich selection and scrumptious scones appear the daintiest of macaroons, chocolate eclairs, strawberry sponge opera cakes and a generous serving of creme brûlée. C’est bon!

We opted for the champagne afternoon tea which is surprisingly really reasonably priced compared to other places I’ve visited. We finished off the experience with a green tea and very cute coffee. My absolute favourite thing about Le Chalet is the story behind it. The founder decided to wave goodbye to the corporate world and swap a depressing office vibe with an enchanting tea room setting. I have huge respect for anyone that decides to take that leap and go it alone and opening a French bakery is just the dream.

The interior is very bright and airy, small yet perfectly formed with chic little details (like the oversized chandelier) that you will want to Instagram instantly. Le Chalet is filled to the brim with my favourite things, cake, champagne and artisan cheeses. It is truly a little slice of heaven for those with a sweet tooth.

If you are ever in town, why not pop in for a piece of cake or a glass of bubbles?
