Sundays are best spent with your closest friends and family and there’s really nothing better than a good BBQ.

Except maybe a BBQ with your best friend and pudding of course.

Sam has been my best friend since I can remember but she’s pretty hard to track down. Since getting engaged, I’ve managed to prize her away from her home in Dubai for a sprinkling of shenanigans from mini hen weekends to wedding celebrations and the odd leisurely lunch at Harvey Nichols. Last weekend, I packed a car with my favourite people armed with bunches of flowers and chocolate truffles for our hosts and enjoyed a glorious afternoon of BFF frolics and BBQ food.

Wading through a flurry of dogs, children, hugs and kisses, we finally made it into the sunshine, glass in hand.

Ali manned the BBQ.

Meanwhile Sam and I focussed on getting some photos in the album that weren’t taken of us when we we 7. Chaos ensued.

Having eaten enough to fill a small army, some chose to burn off the calories while Mum and I feasted on Becky’s chocolate roulade! I may have also sampled the meringue and the lemon tart. (shhhhhh).

Can every weekend be like this please?
