So I’m always gunna be late late late late and the haters gunna hate hate hate hate hate hate and I’m just gunna shake shake shake shake…

Good morning to my lovely readers. Today’s post is slightly later than usual (it was meant to go live on Thursday) as I spent all day at a blogger event that I was almost late for after making my train only by the skin of my teeth. Yes, lateness is a re-occurring theme in my life. Time is a sneaky little thing that creeps up on you when you are at your most relaxed which I was after arriving at the train station half an hour early only to discover that the train on the other side of the track was in fact the train I needed to be on and if I wasn’t on it in 48 seconds it would leave without me. There is nothing like running down a platform in heels, both nipples out of your bra, your whole body flipping and flapping around at the speed of light to make you say no to that second pastry. I mean WHAT a wakeup call. Anyhow I digress. Being late is nothing new to me. My entire life is one mad dash. If you know me well, you will be all too familiar with the following phrases.

I’m on my way (code for I’ve showered but I’m about an hour away from actually stepping foot outside of my house)

I’m just around the corner (code for my uber is ordered and I should be out of the door in 10 minutes)

I’m setting off in five (code for abandon all hope, I’ve just awoken from a nap)

Being late is a part of my DNA but it turns out I’m also late to the party in general. You know those things that genuinely make your life better that other people have known about for months but for some reason you have only just discovered. Here are four things I wish I’d discovered sooner.

*Trouva: So, I recently discovered a gem of a designer homeware store that is especially awesome for blog props. Trouva stock all kinds of lovely things that are ideal of you want to make your blog photography a little more unique or if you just fancy making your home a little more fancy. They kindly sent me this super cute tray that is currently looking pretty in my bathroom but you will probably see it in blog posts from time to time because, well, it’s super cute. They stock everything from those light up letters to tempting trays, just look at this hammered copper one. Just dreamy and you don’t have to remortgage your house to shop there.

Getting my makeup done for free: So, there are people in Leeds City Centre that will happily do your makeup for you for free and they live in Harvey Nichols. Now, I’ve always known that you can try out the latest Charlotte Tilbury eye palette and flirt with the idea of purchasing a Tom Ford lipstick but I’ve always thought of it as a sort of try before you buy service. However, a couple of weekends ago I went to the Bare Minerals counter to have my makeup done before going to a wedding. For the first time ever I loved it and went back the next week to buy all of the products she used to create the look. However, there is no pressure to buy you can just have a makeup artist make you look gorgeous and leave.

The three hour spray tan: so you know that getting a spray tan makes me happy. I get them when I have a special occasion, well, any occasion really and recently I discovered that there is a new type of spray tan available that develops in just three hours. I’ve booked one for Monday so I’ll blogging my thoughts.

The steam iron: After a year of uming and aahing, we finally took the plunge and bought a steam iron. Our friends have had one for years and we always get iron envy every time we stay with them. Now I’m not going to pretend I’m a domestic Goddess who irons on the regular but I have had a go with this new purchase and I have to say it’s life changing. If like me, you only succeed in ironing more creases into your garments, this gadget if for you. We went for this purple one. This is not sponsored in any way but simply a recommendation as I wouldn’t wish the 400 hour process that is comparing the 5698 steam irons on the market on my worst enemy.

So, what have you only just discovered that’s been around forever?
