Carita Skincare: How I Care for My Skin in the Colder Months

The seasons are changing and so is my skincare regimen. As the temperature drops, my skin gets a little dryer and duller but it’s nothing a little TLC won’t fix. I’ve added a few new products to my beauty routine this month and indulged in a luxury Carita facial treatment that I can’t wait to tell you all about. Trust me, you need this tech driven facial in your life. Grab a cuppa and a biscuit and let’s go.

So, my skin has been a little up and down as of late and ever since I came off the pill back in May I’ve been getting regular breakouts so as well as the changes in weather, my skin has also had to deal with my hormones rebalancing. Not ideal. So, to give my skin a helping hand, I’ve been consistent with my skincare routine, cleansed, toned and moisturised religiously. I also booked a facial. Not just your average facial but a Carita soothing wrinkle peel because let’s face it, my skin isn’t getting any younger. The fabulous team at Beauty By Emily invited me to try their Carita facial and I left with glowing skin that made me reluctant to wear makeup for three full days after. I couldn’t believe the results when I looked in the mirror. Is that a hint of a cheekbone I see? This advanced treatment was an hour and fifteen minutes and included quite the selection of high tech equipment. I was told to remove my jewellery and asked if I had any fillings at which point I nervously eyed the tray of implements set out before me. I needn’t have worried, it was very relaxing and not in the least painful. The facial started with a cleanse, scrub and mask before micro currents were applied and light technology and ultrasound was implemented to stimulate the muscles and give the appearance of tightened and plumped skin. It’s basically like a workout for the face. It lifts the brows, defines the cheekbones and jawline and I left feeling like a new woman. The micro currents are set at a level to suit you.

Who Needs It?

If you are having a few skin issues, this is 100% up your street. If you have an event coming up that you want to look fabulous for, this will give you the beauty boost that you crave. Carita is Decleor’s sister company and I’m surprised there isn’t more of a buzz about it in the blogosphere. I don’t think I’ve ever read a review on it. This facial is a celeb secret and I’m going to make sure I treat my skin to a high-tech facial more often.

I also took home with me some lovely Carita skincare bits and bobs and I’ve been using them morning and night. The Lagoon cream has become a firm favourite. It’s richer and thicker than my usual moisturiser but it has a gel-like formula so it doesn’t sit on the skin or feel greasy.  I also love the Carita serum that I’ve been putting on before my moisturiser. These Carita sheet masks are now firmly on my wishlist but at £90 for five sheet masks, they are slightly out of my price range. I think I’ll be popping these on my Christmas list. While I’d love a facial every fortnight, I’ve picked up some cheep and cheerful sheet masks to hydrate my skin regularly. I usually apply one of these if I’m going out or if I’m having a bit of a post gym pamper sesh. I always pick up a few of the Garnier Moisture Bomb sheet masks when I pop into Boots and at £3 they are a total bargain.
