Wish List Part 2-Splendid Spas in the UK

I have had a long love affair with luxury hotels in the UK but it will take more than the promise of the plumpest pillows and a few pillow chocolates to get me into your bed. For me, the best hotels are not those that monitor your every move but those that leave you to your own devices in the knowledge that everything you could possibly need is taken care of. There are four hotels on my wish list. Why these four? Just one look at their splendid spas and I’m totally sold.

Here is my ultimate British Spa wish list:

Babington House-Somerset

What’s to love? The Cowshed Spa

Babington House has been on my wish list for a while for one reason and one reason only. It is home to one of the coveted Cowshed spas. Not only is there a Cowshed spa on site, the spa’s signature products are stashed in every room. I’m by no means a country girl but I’m willing to swap my heels for a pair of hunters just for one day.

Perfect for: A night away

Barnsley House-The Cotswolds

What’s to love? The Setting

Named the best British Bolt Hole in Tatler’s spa awards, this breathtakingly beautiful hotel leaves me wondering if there is a prettier place to be pampered. A dip in the hydrotherapy pool and a bespoke rejuvenating facial in one of the treatment rooms is my idea of heaven.

Perfect for a romantic weekend for two.

Champneys-Forest Mere

What’s to love? The luxury boot camp

The original luxury health farm, Champneys has earned its reputation as being one of the world’s finest spas. You might not have experienced Champneys but you will most definitely have heard about it. I’ve always wanted to go to a luxury boot camp and I couldn’t think of a more luxurious location to shape up and slim down.

Perfect for a long weekend with friends.

W Hotel-London

What’s to Love? The Tanning Menu

Just once, I’d like to go to a spa that isn’t hidden away in the countryside. Not your traditional spa, the Away Spa ticks all of the boxes for those that want to relax without being segregated from all things glitz and glam. If the coolest hotel on earth doesn’t pull you in with its A-list clientele, the tanning menu will. At the Away Spa, you can choose from four delicious tanning treatments that contour the body and sculpt your skin for that extraordinary A list sparkle.

Perfect for a pre-party pamper session.

As I am returning to the UkKafter 11 years in Spain, I am making a note of these gorgeous places. I know Champneys and Babington House, but am really keen to try the hotel in the Cotswold 🙂
