Sunday Funday-Brunch at Bettys

Sunday is a day of rest, definately not a day for pounding it out on the treadmill. I’m the Queen of excuses when it comes to going to the gym and this is my absolute favourite!

Sundays are for lie ins, leisurely walks, pub lunches and duvet days. Maybe a trip out for afternoon tea or a hearty Sunday roast. What Sundays are definately not for is sweating, lycra and dieting. Curling up with a good book and an outrageously calorific hot chocolate is among my favourite Sunday passtimes but if I’m made to venture out this is where you will find me.

Bettys Tea Room

You may have overheard me talking about Bettys, seen me munching on their macaroons or trying to force feed my friends and family with their fabulous fondant fancies. I can’t get enough.

From around the age of 8 to 13, Bettys Tea Rooms was a weekly event. Every Saturday, my mum, auntie and I would take a trip to Bettys for afternoon tea and this is something that I will always remember. Nowadays, Bettys tea room is strictly reserved for lazy Sundays as a treat for getting out of bed before midday. If you go to Bettys, the chocolate milkshakes, fat rascals, fondant fancies, vanilla slices and all day breakfasts are not to be missed. Bettys also boasts the finest cup of Yorkshire tea in all the land.

Happy Sunday! x
